Can a person own two trucking companies. I know a corrupt trucking company they have two mc authority's told me they had other truckong company just in case they get shutdown for all the laws they break they can just move trucks over into the no violation company. Ive noticed they started changing the dot numbers on a couple trucks. They use same logo , the name is similar they just removed one word. If fmsca doesnt enforce their regulations and laws who else enforces ?

I know people do it quits a bit it seems. The one company I'm thinking of has 3 different names on their sign and on different trucks, and I'm pretty sure you don't get that on one authority.

We have one company that’s incorporated. With multiple LLC’s under the same INC. different trucks are registered under different LLC’s just Incase some kind of accident should occur, the plaintiff cannot sue the whole INC. it’ll go as far as the LLC’s property goes. Most major corporations do this for legal reasons. The main incorporated company could actually not own any trucks or equipment. But simply lease form there own selves.

You might have a whistleblower situation on your hands.

Keep in mind you stand to collect a percentage of whatever financial damages suffered by Uncle Sam which could come out to quite a bit of money.

If you have trucks, many trucks, it is good business to have multiple MC numbers. For a small outfit, I see no benefit unless you specialize in one area and have other trucks running general freight. Two or more company names and MC numbers would be appropriate.

If you are asking this question, then I have to assume that you don't know what the word corruption means.

James Thompson Industries and Phoenix Express appear to be the same.
