Okay, a little update on that 99 freightliner. Its got 600,000 miles on a Major rebuild. At about 560,000 the motor broke the crank and they did a out of frame rebuild. Cost was over $17,000.00 and was done at a Cat dealership, I did see the paperwork. The truck itself has 1,160,000 miles on it. I still really liked the truck. It ran good and really drove and rode good. I did notice though that at 65 mph, 1200 rpm's that it was only holding about 45 to 46 pounds of oil pressure. I think that might be a little low. I got him down to $13,500.00 but told him I still need to think about it some more. So I've been thinking about giving him the 13,500 if he would put in a set of rod and main bearings in it. What do you guys think? I really do appreciate your guys help. I'm really glad I found this forum it's loaded with information!
Two Trucks and I don't know which one to pick!!!

Did the balancer get replaced? I was told that is why they break cranks...

With 1.2mil on it, no more than $10-11K. Have some in the bank when running the older trucks or forget it. I thought $15K was high when you said it only had 600K on it. In this market there are a ton of trucks out there so don't let the money burn a hole in ya pocket.
