Is it customary in trucking to give a two week notice when you have gotten another job or not? I'm planning on leaving my current job in 2 weeks when I'm due to go home for my hometime but I'm worried that they will do something to screw over my hometime or something if I give notice so I'm not too sure if I should or just be done when hometime comes?
Two week notice?

Always best to give the good old two week notice, and return equipment to one of their terminals.

why ask? -
Give notice, the toes you step on today may be connected to the ### you have to kiss tomorrow.
KillingTime, tscottme and CSDixon Thank this. -
You are wasting all of our time.
First you say should I this and then you destroy the problem by saying this no need to worry about going home.
Turn you two weeks notice. Turn IN THE TRRRUUUCCCK at the home ternimal then GO HOME.
Be happy, be well.
DO NOT. quit and leave truck outside or on road. DAC will be written up two ways from sunday and your driver days are over. -
Has this company in the past given you reason to believe they will screw with you? If so don't give notice and quit when at the terminal next. If not give notice. It's always better to leave on good terms.
Also make sure your hometime is a couple days before the new job starts. It would suck not making the new job if your truck broke down.DTP Thanks this. -
