Think about the headline I have just posted to any driver considering to apply here. Just the other week Bentonville let go many long time managers and safety people. I guess we don’t need them when bigger dedicates contracts are awarded to Swift right?

More proof this place is just a dead end job without a bright future to look forward to. For any driver looking for a job, please look elsewhere.

I have carried a belief that walmart wants to dispose of the infleet trucking and have outside trucks do store deliveries.

I have been seeing outside trucks come to the two we go to and get to the docks. But because Searcy has two major DC's I think they will hang on to some drivers a while. But the happy time is past.

A few years ago i was contacted by my company about doing power only for Walmart. I told them if i wanted to work for Walmart i would be there already.
I guess none of our drivers accepted it because we never did it.

Walmart can cut costs using Swift and of course Swift will have to provide the service at a discount. Up here its all common carriers delivering to Walmart, not even Walmart trailers and we have 3 Walmarts in my little city.

Every 2 or 3 days they post on CL for Menomonee DC drivers.
Implementation of a change of that magnitude affecting so many will take years.
Good thing there are many commom carrier terminals located nearby.

    That's interesting you say that.

Around here it's either gas, oil, walmart or get out of state for something else. Shops, truck yards etc have become lots for lease up and down US 67 as far as eye can see.

Never met a safety man worth their salary, so that was an easy decision.

Now the rest of the story. The manner our pay is figured is changing. That means less coordinators.

We are moving to paperless (quit your #### laughing I know how it is going) so less store call folks. It was pointless to have overnight associates.

No more dvir pages or log pages means no more log clerk.

Yes they removed 600 some odd people, about half moved over to the DC side. But as we change technology a lot of folks are going to have to transfer or find another opportunity. T

Never heard a word from drivers when hundreds of market and store managers were displaced. Or the bunch at home office. Nope not a peep.

Does that mean they are closing stores? No of course not. What it does mean is a lot of positions are kept because "they have always been here". Ask Sears and KMart how that worked out.

We used to do manual yard checks at every dc twice a day. That is insanity. Whole lot of waste on a company this size. I am glad they are taking care of it.

And another lie from local management. Most of the long term associates were escorted off the property upon receiving the news they’re no longer needed.
