Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

If it turns out that the trucking life is not for me, I hope to bow out gracefully, but I'm pretty sure I'll go from there to find an industry related job. There's a million and one trucking-related opportunities out there. I don't mean there's that many "open" positions right now, but there are jobs within the industry that I think I would find interesting.
Fortunately, if I decide, or am forced by experience to admit, that driving just isn't what I need to do, then no one is going to take the fall but me. The younger guys and gals that have families probably take a harder fall.
It seems like this industry is primed for an explosion. It remains to be seen if the explosion moves mountains that are in the way of progress or creates huge craters into which many will inevitably fall.
We'll have to pray for the former and fight tooth and nail against the latter. -
"What's the Best Carrier To Go With........Next!!!! -
1. Cell phone. Most cell phone carriers have a family plan the allows for free calls between family members. Getting that additional line is usually a $10 per month fee so you might want to look into doing that with one of your sisters.
2. Someone to call daily, or at least someone who will look into you not making contact after a few days. Bad things do happen.
3. Renting a storage unit, don't do it!!!!!!!!!!
4. Beater car for leaving at the terminal. A car (or pickup) that looks so bad that no one will steal it.
5. The cheapest laptop you can find. That should be computer laptop. Install a GPS program on it, just so you will be able to get a local map when you need it. Why the cheapest? I've managed to destroy one a year, and that's without trying!
6. A can opener. At some point you will really really want a can opener.

This what i did, they also ask for stuff a lot the ot room, what i did was make photo copys of everything from birth cert too driver lic, if they ask for organal take it, get yourself a good flashlight no cheepee, get a first aid kit , truckers always get beat up by trls and tractors, handy whipes for disgusting docks handrails that truckers leave gum on
if your smoker make sure you get a trainer that smokes, bug spray such as off annd flea and tick killer can, because if you park in the southeast rest areas there loaded with trees which are nice but can carry ticks and other critters, if you plan on driving in the sw get a snake bite and other critter kit, stay away from trk stop becuse there casnio's in disguis, shower at the pilot much better and free with fuel and ussally depending on time day no lines , unlike the other two were you wait in line from 45 mins too 2 hrs ,again depending on time of day, what i did , was drop trl at shipper or rec, and ask if okay to bt too trkstop too shower up and eat if close by, most were not, so plan it out very carefully, while waiting too get unloaded , use it too rest as much you can , unless you are too be in trl, you did not say wether or not your running reffer or not, if so buy a very high priced steel toa boot such as catipiller boots, they have the soles for traction as that reffer floor is very slippery, also that box of frozen produce, is like 34 pounds of steel hittiing your toes , so steel toes is better then tennys , unless you like pain
well theres a few more pointers for ya, Everett.

get yourself a pre-paid visa card, load it up with however much you think you might need to get home in an emergency. stash it somewhere safe besides your wallet. that way if you get uppity and kicked to the curb, you can get home. lord knows we don't want to see you hanging around the fuel pumps bumming. also put 10 bucks on a sprint pre-paid. you know your cell will be sitting on the dash giggling as it drives out the gate.
