My truck is governed at 65, and it is sooo much easier to drive at 65, rather than 64, foot on the floor or constantly catching up and backing out of it.
So if there is not a whole lot of traffic, I will grab the left lane. If the truck I am passing would back out of it for 10 seconds or so, I would be down the road and bothering no one. If I am the slower truck in this situation, I always back out of it for a bit. Probably lose a mile or two a day.

Mine's governed at 65, I find it easier to drive at 58 to 62.
If you need help completing a pass you don't need to be making that pass.Dye Guardian Thanks this. -
Personally, I think these companies should be forced to at least allow these trucks to 72 or 75 since most states have a limit of 70 and a big percentage of them is 75. It is absolutely bull#### to have them governed at 60 to 68 mph, not to mention dangerous. If this d### government would get it's head out of it's butt, and listen to reason and start fining the companies, maybe this crap would stop.
We as truckers have been fighting for years to get the speed limits up, now they slow the trks down, Go figure.banders77 Thanks this. -
I've never seen so many people get so butthurt over a courtesy flash during a lane change. Trucking sure has changed with all the new over sensitive babies, and the one year super truckers. Just my 2 cents.

Why do you have an issue with backing out of it a little to let the faster truck on around and be on his merry way? I've never understood that logic. Back when I drove one of them god forsaken governed trucks a long time ago, I always backed out of it when a faster truck was passing, especially if there was traffic behind the passing truck.tracyq144 and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -

The point was that I personally won't put myself in the position that I need help making a pass and don't understand why so many do it. If you need that help you're not going fast enough to make it worth passing.Dye Guardian Thanks this. -
