This exactly what the CDC says in part. The whole report is very long , it denies many of the things said here and its basic theme throughout the whole report is in these last two paragraph's , I got to this from SNOPES.COM a well respected long living fact checking site.
These are the final words from the report. it is strictly words from the CDC , not mine , nothing has been changed.

    The CDC report:

Finally, CDC recommends community leaders encourage vaccination and universal masking to prevent further outbreaks in areas of substantial and high transmission with the delta variant. Vaccinating more Americans now is more urgent than ever. The highest spread of cases and severe outcomes is happening in places with low vaccination rates and among unvaccinated people.

This moment and, most importantly, the associated illness, suffering and death could have been avoided with higher vaccination coverage in this country. COVID-19 continues to present many challenges and has exacted a tremendous toll on our nation. We continue to follow the signs closely and update the guidance should the science shift again. We must take every step we can to stop the delta variant and end this pandemic.

Ummmmm.....they are more than athletes sir. They're also celebrities. That also means playing ball ain't their only source of income. It's not like our world, man. In a regular job setting, we can't talk about that type of stuff. The boss controls everything. In that world, the entertainers control the owners whether they think so or not. Laker fans pay to see Lebron James, not the owner Jeannie Buss....

Anyway, back to Tyson. Of the 70% of Americans who have received at least one vaccination shot only 12% of those have been Hispanic. So I don’t see forcing this on their employees playing out well for Tyson.

On the other hand I did read some articles last night that said if the vaccine is required as condition of employment any adverse effects from the vaccine should be covered by work comp insurance.

I know back to Tyson but this is relevant to your thread. All the major US airlines will reportedly not mandate vaccines for their employees. That’s a good step.

I'd like to see the lawsuits when a non-vaxxed employee gets fired. When they use religious beliefs as their exemption. Discrimination attorneys would be lining up to take that case.

Your right, but you have to admit, professional sports was way more entertaining when they kept politics and personal beliefs off the main stage. Jordan, Pippen, Montana, Marino, Canseco, McGuire, were my hero's growing up. They all played the sports they loved and thats it, thats all. Did steroids tarnish McGuire and Canseco’s legacy? Yes most certainly. Does political and personal beliefs tarnish the likes of Lebron, and Kaepernick to name a few? Most certainly. They should just play ball, and stick to subway commercials. Sorry for the thread highjack:confused3:

Sports is just as entertaining for me regardless of how they use their platform. A large portion of this thread is talking about freedom. The entertainers/athletes and the entities they belong to are using those freedoms to promote equality, injustices, and the works. Those are legit problems in some parts of USA. Why does freedom only apply to certain topics? They use their platform to talk about what they feel is a problem in America. I can appreciate that because the very people who feel there is a problem won't be heard without these athletes/entertainers. The issues they talk about, they should keep talking about. You don't like it because those topics don't impact you, and may make you uncomfortable. I can't say I'm impacted personally by those topics, but if they are listening to those who say there is a problem, why can't we? You still can be entertained with ball, but you named a bunch of players from a bygone era. Be for real, have you really watched sports since the 90s and early 2000s?
