I just received my class A cdl and live in southwest Ga. I am considering U.S. Xpress. Would this be a good company to start out with. Would like to hear any pros and cons about them. Thanks,
U.S. Xpress for a newbie?

Like you, I looked at US Xpress and liked what I saw, especially their pet policy as I have a four legged co driver. I upgraded from cdl b to cdl a at the local community college, a 120 hour course. In talking to USX recruiter, they require a 160 hour course or 6 months road experience. He advised me there was no way to make up the 40 extra hours at USX and I should drive 6 months then call back.

They're an option for you, I won't say what I think of them, but think of this. How good are you with a manual shifter? You likely learned on one, I would hope, but no doubt you could use some real practice. Ha, I still miss gears at times. Good luck to ya.
