I was just out there for orientation and all I can say is WHAT A JOKE! The trucks out there are older than two years, 70% that are assigned either are in disrepair or need to be retired to the scrapyard. The tractor I was assigned had live wires hanging out from under the bunk (I guess from the last driver's power inverter) but the night-shift shop thought it was a joke I was complaining about it. I guess the night-shift guys dont know that a simple 9v battery has enough amps to stop your heart.......I wonder what 100amps from the tractor's batteries will do....The orientation staff dont have a clue of proper chains of command, I was told during the class if the address in the drivertech was set to another company, the shop could fix it........wrong the Drivertech company does that Monday-Friday 8am-5pm EST....... Also, some of the staff are heavy smokers which require them to be outside smoking every 15-30mins (FYI last desk job I had, you were given two 15 min breaks after two hours of working).
So if you want to work for U.S. Xpress and have the choice between Shippensburg terminal or the Ohio terminal..........run with Ohio.
U.S. Xpress Shippensburg, PA terminal don't bother

Trucks older than 2 years are "old" to you? Otherwise yeah USX is a bottom feeder what else is new?
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
USX is in a legal dispute with the city or state. That's why that terminal isn't done. It was approved but before work began....the city or state changed their mind on letting USX build that terminal as planned.

what makes a two year truck old?! two year truck is barely broken in. besides, someone should've spent some shop time getting rid of all kinks for you. well, less the wires
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -

Ice, she was already at 490K, Pete with auto trans....need I say more.
Driver, don't put in you're ad "Our equipments age is not older than two years.." I guess they should have said our fleets average age... -

I hate to be one's of those guys. But...
Its not like you were going to get electrocuted, Put a wire nut on em, or wrap em in electrical tape. Fixed.
Other stuff other than the people smoking, 1/2 the industry smokes, so I bet half the class welcomed it (I don't smoke). -
Nothing worse then ### and cigarette smoke together. YUK!
