refresh my memory..sometimes I miss those days...big red truck, 4 wheelers eyeballs popping out and the screams..ooooooohhhhhhhhh the screams when you blast over onto the oncoming traffic to get around the left turn median, and shoot right through the intersection, those people in the opposing left turn lane screaming and wondering if you will make the turn or plow 'em head on....the thrill, the exhuberance, THE BLOOD ALL OVER THE ROADWAY...someones hemoroid just popped ROFLMAO

The medic unit is fun, but I learned more in the mortuary than any EMT course begins to offer. And TsW was enjoying the blood and dead bodies in the morgue along with me.

We had an autopsy scheduled one day, and thuoght we (the owner of the mortuary) would play a nasty joke on Mama, so we called her down to the office, and when she came in she was told we were in the back "doing inventory" and to come on back. When she opened that door, (well we thought she would toss some cookies) what did she do, she just marched right up to the surgeon and started asking questions, the chest cavity was open, some organs were already out, and she just troopered right in there...ruined our whole day...took away all our fun!

Not to gross out people here, but I have been in many embalming rooms and even seen one in process.

One look in one of them and the family toilet makes one think.

Oh the stories I could tell...like ..how to use the pressure in the embalming machine, with the output vein clamped, well lets see how to phrase this delicately...morning wood comes to mind!

Or when a body just sits right up and turns head in your direction...or the ghost stories...yep it happened to me one night, still get goose bumps thinking about it.

Those were the good old days...yes sir...what was the medical? heart, wreck, anything good?

cool extremities could just be circulation, any history of heart problems? any recent falls, what did she eat reently? See I still remember some...i do miss it once in a while..specially the wildland fires--they were fun and made good money on those!

If you are curious, its a good thing to check and find out what it was, pays off for future reference if similar circumstances warrent any different treatment than was first applied.

    Birthday party and related food.

No hx of diabetes. BP meds.

    No Hx of heart.

98 pulse ox room air. Initial heart rate on pulse ox was 50. Color normal, breathing normal. Oriented x3.

No facial drooping. No disorientation. Shakes were noticeable during the BP process. Extremely cool on the hands only.

This I know is a possible cardiac sign of low circulation. The shakes had me more concerned. Pt was in restroom and suffered bout of extreme weakness. Assisted by family to the kitchen and had shakes. Could not place the shakes to the event.

I deemed a possible cardiac event and advised ALS in private for consult. Pulse was later read by hand to be 98, but still cool hands. Blood sugar still 98.

    PT stable.

I will assume Pt put on O2, did that change pulse ox after a few minutes, something tells me the diabetic history is about to change...birthday party means lots of sugar intake, might not have been handled well internally, so the weakness...shakes brought on by the sugar rush maybe? What was the orientation part absent? You said orientated x3
