I've been using using transplace since 2014 when I first opened my dot, they've always been good to me and paid me lay overs, detention and tonu, I never had any issues with them, seeing uber buy them out is a devastating news. Tbh transplace couldn't turn down this easy money from Uber, uber is trying to the trucking side of the industry like what Amazon did to lots of businesses, only problem is this is trucking, its a bottomless pit lool
Uber Freight buys Transplace for 2.25BILLION

The last time I tried to use Uber several months ago, I arrived at the shipper and a lady walked out asking who I was. When I told her, she said that she has been trying to call and email Uber for 3 days to cancel the load, but nobody ever got back to her. So I'm left with no TONU and no load. Never again.

I think Uber saw how Amazon approached things, and said, "I want to buy market share!" and forgot that Amazon has quarterly revenues that are roughly 5 and a half times the total value of Uber. They can afford it a lot better.dwells40, oldtrucker66, PoleCrusher and 4 others Thank this. -
The last point is why I fear Amazon way more than I do Uber or any of the other point and click brokerages out there. Amazon has the revenues to throw around that basically make acquisitions like this loo like a *blip*. For good or ill, Bezos and company made a lot of really smart moves. It's hard not to respect them, even if you do hate what they've become.

I do a lot of UBER and have been very happy with the prices . Compared to other big brokers in my area the typically pay more , yes the outsourcing of customer support sucks .

I’ve only been out here a week. Still getting things set up so I’m using Uber exclusively till next week. Well………they suck. The foreign support sucks. The people are nice but very difficult to understand most of the time. So far I’ve had two loads with the wrong appointment tomes for the shipper. Last Sunday and right now which is Sunday again.
Last Sunday shipper said i was a day early. I sat waiting for Uber to fix for 5 hours. They didn’t. I canceled the load and the one after it since I wouldn’t be in that area delivering anymore. I tried to salvage the day but nothing was available. So one day of revenue gone. I did find replacement for second load. I ask for compensation and they tell me I canceled the load. I had to explain why and how this screwed the next load and this was in no way my fault. Still waiting for a reply.
Then tonight. Shipper 20 miles from house. Short run and will be home between 10-12 in morning. Uber appointment time 0100. I show up at 2300. Shipper says appointment not till 0700, but thats when I am supposed to deliver. Waiting for an answer now. I won’t wait long this time. I’m done with Uber. Two times in 7 days for a new carrier. Get bent.SteveScott, ProfessionalNoticer and dwells40 Thank this. -
