@rollin coal I'm on the search for that tool!!! I think sooner than later someone will come up with something that can let you fish a good load between all the noise... I mean, you could set your preferences or standards and let the software pull what best fits you...

Landstar load alerts works OK but I haven't used them in years. The rare few LS loads I have done in the past couple of years were problem loads too. I dislike LS broker.
nightgunner and Tug Toy Thank this. -
The demurage is light on Uber imo. As well as the truck money for sitting a day.

You have to have your own MC to use it, but yea I like it. They often have very nice rates. They pay in a matter of days too..

My field trip experience to uber freight was scary. That company seems to be having lots of issues at their other divisions and most likely will have cash liquidity problems followed by cash flow problems. They offer payment waiting time of days which could possibly mean that they are paying the driver out of their own reserve and collecting from the shipper later. I am no expert nor a degree holding professional, but the term crystal ship may mean something.anbakam metal Thanks this.

I am not quite sure what type of model they use, but usually it takes more than seven days to get paid. For example, prime inc charges 5% to their owner operator division to get paid in two days only. If not, regular pay time runs around 15 days. Therefore, someone out there is funding those contracts. It could be Uber, banks or the shipper....
Their taxi division cannot operate in London, England, according to the news, and it is just a matter of time until the yellow medallion holders of New York start heavily protesting because some have paid thousands upon thousands to work their taxis in their world famous New York network. -
They had a revenue of 6.5 Billion in 2016. This little experiment of freight brokering is a rounding error in the corporate structure. They can easily afford to play both broker and factoring company. Remember, it's just an experiment to get mind share for when Otto actually happens.
bulldawg trucker and 77fib77 Thank this. -
Yep then the Otto truck already has clients.

Uber seems to be indeed in a solicitation mode. I was called by them (randomly from Safer?) a few days back and told that they had a lot of things going in Chicago area. I agreed to sign on, seems very easy online set up but I did not yet....because of their ACH method of paying. I need to open secondary business savings account with the purpose of receiving payments then I will do the set up. Call me old fashion, but ACH transactions worry me, especially with such anonymous partners as Uber.

That’s why I never set up with them. I will not under any circumstance give a broker that information.
