Uber announced today that they are working on app to find freight. Acting like a broker. They said that would keep 15% of the bill.
shippers will post there freight to Uber then truckers or carousers can open the app on there phone or whatever device and all the available nearby freight will show up as available to pick up. And you just click on it.

    Any thoughts?

Did they say who will be setting the rates? Are they going to manipulate rates like brokers already do

The shipper will decide and post rates and Uber will get 15% of posted rate

They didn't say anything about bidding on it. Just click on it and it's yours. I don't think they will do that because that's cuts into there commission as well just not yours

Um, maybe you'll see the same load on DATS from a broker. ;)

Will there be a way for only carriers to accept the load?

Not sure about it was only a about a minute long story on a business channel. But I assume you'd have to be a approved carrier to make sure you have proper insurance and such. I sure it would depend on your carrier if they would allow you to pick if you are a company driver. I would imagine as independent once your approved that you could pick whatever you want.
