Well we are moving a 2br apartment with most stuff sold to Phoenix or Las Vegas to start Training school.. Are we nuts to go the Uhaul route? Is there any secret to beating their prices? Thanks for your help.

You might want to do some comparing with the rates for the companies that haul your goods in a mini container. If you are able to do the packing and loading, which I'm guessing you would be doing for the Uhaul.

I've moved several times & liked using U-Haul. You can get a two bedroom apt. belongings into their largest truck if packed right. If you sold most stuff, as you said, you may not even need the largest truck. Rent their car hauler trailer for your car to save wear & tear on the car. If you have pets, they can ride in the car along with you personal luggage you will need on the trip.
Nevada has no personal income tax, but Arizona does; something to consider. -
names? or where to find them?

I just noticed, you're the DJ. Looks like you made the big jump to trucking. Best wishes.
Right now my wife and I are taking a break in the Orient, we have a condo in Beijing. She's about ready to move back and we've been looking at Las Vegas very seriously. We're looking at Painted Desert gated golf community, but haven't actually seen it yet, just starting to get ideas where to live in Las Vegas.
Again, best wishes. -
The mini containers are pretty good. The only drawback is they usually sit the container in your driveway & you call them when it's empty. Some neighborhoods/apartment complexes/condo complexes, don't allow that. -

pods is an option too

i had a friend do Pods they dropped it off in driveway he took a week to load it. and a month to unload when it was delivered.
i moved last year and uhaul was cheapest by couple hundred for 500 mile move -
I spent 900 bucks back in 1993 to move 600 miles. That was a box truck and car trailer. When I got here I realized all my crap added together wasn't worth 900 bucks. I should've packed a few things in the car and sold the rest. I didn't realize how stupid I was until my military family pointed it out to me. There are only a very few of the items from the move I still have today and they all would've fit in my car. I did have some decent furniture and a couple of antiques, but I was so broke when I got here I had to sell them anyway. I think I got about 400 for all of it. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
I did some research on that company you're asking about for my kid. There are a lot of horror stories on the web. My truck was fine though.
The generation before me was all military. They buy a cheap pick up & trailer, fill it up, then sell it when they get there. Too bad the common sense gene wasn't passed down this far.
Best of luck to ya.
