I'm doing fine thanks to my road family. It is only a date on the calendar not the actual moment in the cosmos. That moment in eternity is gone. Keeping this in mind one can over come "bad" dates.

I am glad you chose Matthew chapter 5 for your argument. Look closely at verse 10 and 11, and then at verses 17 through 20. You chose the very chapter that defeats your own argument. Verse 18 and 19 in particular .

    (18) For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

(Means no amendment of the Mosaic law. We ARE still bound by the 10 commandments.)

    (19) Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

We still don't get to pick and choose what we think justifies our actions.

For a point of info. Yes I was a trucker for a number of years. So was my wife. We both have been out solo but mostly we drove team.

I have tried not to make personal comments about anyone specific in these posts. The temptation is to match word for word.

My posts are about condeming the sin of adultry. By attacking adultry some have felt they were attacked.

Call me religious nut, hypocrit, holier than thou, ect. if you like. I point you back to Matthew chapter 5 verses 10 and 11.

God bless and I leave as Jesus said to "shake the dust off your feet".

LP, here is what I have a problem with specifically. You are married, have been married for probably a long time. Great, I wish I was in your position. Unfortunately I am not that lucky.

Being out here, alone, day in and day out, reading a bible does not fulfill the craving for human companionship. It is lonely, especially when you have no place to go home to.

I don't agree with just having sex with every person that is willing. I would not do that either, but I have had sex with people that I just hooked up with. I was not married, he was not married, and while the religious fanatics take exception to this, it was acceptable for me. Sex feels good. I agree that it is better when in a committed and loving relationship but there are times in life where you are not in one, and this fulfills a need.

My answer today, may not be what I would have said three years ago, but you are shaped by the events you live through, and the single most traumatic event for me was my husbands death.

I have been so lonely, that I couldn't sleep, just cried, and would have been with someone, had there been someone at that time. The pain you feel when your cherished spouse dies is more than anyone should have to ever deal with.

You can say whatever you want from your morally high horse, walk a mile in my shoes, before you pass judgment on me.

I know you did not direct any of this on me personally, but yeah, I do in a way feel "attacked" too. We will talk again when you lose your spouse (not that I wish that on you or anyone, I really don't) and we will see how much comfort that bible will provide when you lie in an empty bed, night after night, can't sleep, crave the touch of another person. And sometimes the only way to get that touch is to go out and get laid. I never knew I craved being touched as much as I do until my husbands death, especially since he was one of these "touchy, feely" kind of people.

I hope you will never walk in my shoes. No one should, yet so many do. It is easy for you to condemn us, but the fact is you are married, you have someone to do those things with right there at home. Many of us don't, and human touch is crucial to your well being. Preemie babies have a better chance of survival when they get touched regularly. So in us lonely people, touch involves sex at times.

I will rather deal with being judged for having sex with a man I am not married to when the day comes, than for comparing myself to all them "sinners" out there, and marveling at the fact at how much godlier I am than they are.

You are entitled to your opinion, you are entitled to voice it, as we all are. I guess you have guts too, you stick to what you believe is right, even though for the most part you are getting attacked. I respect you for that. I just hope you can respect the fact that I don't agree with you and NEVER WILL on this subject.

    Very nice
    I love verse 17
Do not think I came to destroy the law or the prophets, I came not to destroy, but to fulfill
The Mosaic covenant being a contract between God and his people
Jesus fulfilled this contract and replaced the laws with his following words
Which I really appreciate, instead of a bunch of rules, almost 700 laws we are to be forgiven based on his sacrifice and repentance

OK we have a religious forum for post's like this Religion
Discussions like this are better served in there I guess

Just found out somethin' funny...My Grandfather hauled dynamite in the '50's. Sometimes my Grandmother would go with him. His truck didn't have a sleeper, and one time they got tired and opened up the back and climbed in for a "nap."
Here came the cops and thought my grandma was a lizard!! I can only imagine the words she had for them...LOL She was a spitfire redhead from Arkansas. :angry4:
