I was working for a man in Tennessee and I have a Mississippi CDL. At the beginning of the year he sent off everyone's medical card to make sure it was registered. He sent mine off to Tennessee as well. I'm trying to get another job and I find out my cdl has been downgraded to a basic license. I can't seem to find any information online as to what is required to upgrade it back to a class A. Im going to call in the morning, but I'm a little impatient and hoping one of y'all can give me more information than I'm capable of finding.
ummm... what to do now?

You, not anyone else need to contact the Mississippi licensing authorities and let them tell you what has to be done to correct this. This is way to important to gather information here.

If you have a Mississippi CDL, the medical card should have been sent to Mississippi. You should have received a notice in the mail 90 days prior to your old medical card expiring so you would have sufficient time to get a new medical card and get it to your state so it could be attached to your CDL. More than likely, you failed to send a copy to your state by the deadline so your CDL was downgraded. You can go online and set up an account directly with your state, fax it or drop by your local DMV office and hand it to them in person. You need to first call them and talk to them, but if your employer sent it to his state instead of your CDL state, then that is probably the reason. In any case, you need to call your state and speak with someone. This is not something that can wait.
tsavory Thanks this. -
Yeah, I'm just hoping I don't have to go through another #### road test, lol.

And my medical card has not expired. It's good through May 2015. It's the rare date to skate through the registry, lol. At least its through concentra.
-
The new registry you "skated" though did not change any of the FMCSA criteria for a cdl drivers physical. Nothing has changed there. It made all the people doing physicals sign up to a registry if they wanted to be able to perform the physicals.

Sorrry for a late reply. Contacted DMV. State of Mississippi. $100 reinstate fee. No testing. Good ### chewing though. Lol. And I deserved it.

Oh, and if you need to update one, you can now do it via your smartphone in Mississippi.
