My only question is did you really think that a week's notice is enough? I think two weeks notice is fairly standard in ANY industry. In addition, I'm sure with a doctor's appointment you should've know months in advance the date of said appointment. Sorry, but I think this one's on you driver.

I think you did not comprehend what the OP was saying, so I will highlight it below...
2 weeks notice is for QUITING....
this was a doctors appt, which the OP had tried to make sure it coincided with HOMETIME
I would take the higher $$ amount of either (a) small claims court or (b) whatever they offer.
Also, I would ask the judge for pain & suffering, while you were on the road for those missed appts...
and also punitive amount to ensure the company does not treat other drivers like that
Keep in mind, they DO NOT WANT YOU TO DO A LEGAL DISCOVERY on them, that may uncover violations, and other stuff that may paint them in bad light...thats why they are willing to settle.
Finally, get the judge to issue a court order that your DAC be untarnished, for future employability.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Am I the only one who can call my doctor and get seen same day? He knows my occupation and how crazy my schedule is so the office staff works to help me.

My doctor always takes walk-ins. The receptionist tells you to be there at 3 pm and they work you in.

Our dr is no appt, walk-in only; he has a half day off Friday. Chiropractor, all we have to do is call. Wish more drs were like that.

Let me ask you this.
Some appointment. What kind of appointment was this for and why? What bearing does this have on your ability to maintain your medical health for DOT Card and CDL?
What about hopping into a clinic such as a walk in or emergency small ER type facility (Not Hosptial, there is a difference) and seeing a doctor wherever you are at or going?)
Unlike me you seem to be healthy, why would you toss your job by going to your specific home doctor? Is that doctor your only source of pain pills maybe? Or something else that no other normal doctor will give you upon proper examination and consultation?
Im just guessing here.
