    You just bought a truck and blame me for the spot market to be cheap?
    It does not work like that.

    That's not true capitalistic spirit.

    You don't complain about the competition, if you have a true capitalistic spirit you go out there with your truck and conquer the spot market so it is all yours. Now, that's true capitalistic spirit.

    That's not like that.
    A carrier can't be capped - it is providing the core service of transportation.
    Brokers can be, due their role of middle men - they provide an auxiliary service.

    yet the broker issue was solved in the housing market because before that brokers literally swindled home owners.

    just saying if we have to live under regulations so should they. Otherwise open it up for all.


    Simple solution to that is audit brokers like we get dot audited.

    this way no one will know their rates but are scrutinized just like us. To see if they are following the rules and not double brokering loads.

    I really, really feel so lonely lately on the Truckers Report.
    I can't be that strange.
    I did the spot market for the last 6 years and I am still here while others left. Does it mean I did something communist to them?

    It’s all good bud, I understand the capitalist argument, but you can’t regulate one side to death and not do the same to the other. Either both or none at all.

    not sure what you mean about doing anything communist to anyone. Just know your aren't alone. Just many here are tired of this argument.

    what brokers don’t understand is if the owner operators are gone and that’s where the industry is headed so are they.

    You're right.
    I guess my problem is that I can't help the feeling to regulate them to death while myself being left alone and completely exempted from any regulation. Even HOS - after proving the last 1000 000 miles accident and tickets free.
    I just don't understand why members are taking brokers side on this while so often speaking of them in an adversary tone.
    They often say that they make too much and that the bottom feeders run for too little. Hence I speculated on possible solution.
    I would imagine that this thread alone would have awarded me with at least 1000 "thank you" clicks ... and I got only a few.

    They do that because of convictions. Yet don’t realize you can’t have true open markets when one side is handicapped.

    Take for example the solicitation clause in a brokers contract. They have all the power yet we can’t back solicit any client we served through them. Literally after driving for a few years the whole industry is now shut off from you from ever expanding.

    in the end the smart ones will get rich and many owner operators will go to the grave singing “capitalism is the best” not realizing capitalism is the art of screwing the one in front of you before they screw you.

    nothing about capitalism says business should be fair. And in this case they are in a better position so they don’t care. They just don’t want to apply capitalism towards the broker that’s all.

    This business has been rigged for a long time, thanks to your government.
    The biggest problem is they are giving CDLs to everyone. At least 50% of the
    drivers out there are not qualified to drive a big truck, but they don't care.
    By oversupplying the market they are able to manipulate it and that is
    all they care for.

    But you already now that, right?

    I would say the system is rigged against the hard working honest man who believes virtuous sayings to the end, not realizing that these “beliefs” are created to keep people brains occupied. The smart ones get it and use it for their own gain.

    Ok then. What’s a fair profit for truckers? What if shippers want to cap our profits at a certain percentage? What’s fair for one is fair for all of us, right? Either you’re trolling at this point or your vision is extremely shortsighted. Look up the amount of lobbying power the TIA has, then sit back and honestly think about if they will allow their profits to be capped without any pushback whatsoever.
