Looks like I'll be sitting going into the weekend because I refuse to haul $2 a mile loads.

I've done 5 loads this week, totaling 1800 miles - oscillating around home area as the center (I kept with 400 radius) - grossing $5110.00 with a dry van. After fuel and tolls of about $1400 I'll be left with $3,710 for this week.
The first pick up was Friday night - then I stayed home until late Sunday, I came back home last night to deliver this last load in a few hours not too far from my parking.
I already paid my last insurance installment for this year...
So....it ain't the end of the World yet. With my current overhead, I could do this till I retire....of course the truck replacement / or overhaul is a pending idea but when it happens I don't plan owing a mortgage on it.

    P.S.
I am saying this to give an example that the perception depends on where you observation point is.

Over these measly app based loads...?!
    Hmmm....
I thought it takes 4 dol per mile not to call it cheap...
Frankly, I yet to haul 2 dol per mile and pay 6 dol per gal this year.
Yesterday, I filled up 200 gal at $4.50 in WI. Mud flap app made it possible.

As long as drivers will take whatever freight for whatever rate it’s not gonna change for anyone we have to stick together

My trucks are white. But they stay clean and polished. I wear button down shirts, jeans and boots. My best customer is a company of only 32 employees. Not the likes of a global behemoth like Caterpillar.

But by all means, be obtuse and wear a suit when you go knocking on the door of a worldwide corporation with only what, one truck worth of capacity?
