This is already a regulated industry in which evey carrier is restricted as to what form and fashion they can operate.
HOS, Insurance, Safety protocols, type of operations etc. Perhaps it could be even argued that operating too cheap can compromise public Safety.
Thus, manifesting a shipper's rate does not appear to me as overreaching but merely as a measure to promote the optimal outcome for all the parties involved.RubyEagle Thanks this. -

I just read recently a broker saying they lost over 20 million in 2021, because they were in contract and did not want to lose their long time customer.

3. Transparency would have not changed a thing, however, someone like you would at least know that they did not lie saying that it was all they had in it before rejecting or accepting what they would offer you. -
