Under 26,001 Non-Cdl Setup (MEDICAL CARD QUESTION)

I was sent to a Concentra clinic for a random trug test. The technician was so stupid that I had to explain to her how to do the split sample. If that had of been a newbie they could have gotten screwed real bad. First thing I did when I got back to my employer was raise cane that they would send a employee to such a clinic and jeopardize their CDL. They in turn raised cane with Concentra. Don't really know what Concentra did to address the issue, never had to go back there again.

 

Your on pills and not injections I hope. You are also supposed to produce a photo ID.

 

Learn something new everyday. I would have thought under 26k with no CDL, no card

INTRASTATE cdl drivers do not have to have a medical card, even for an 18 wheeler. When people renew their CDL's they can just check the INTRASTATE box and can keep a class A cdl without getting a medical card. Then if they want to go drive INTERSTATE they have to go get a DOT medical card. I am a state highway dept. employee and we all have to have CDL's, but we don't have to get a DOT medical card because we check the INTRASTATE box.

 

I am aware of the requirement that you must declare Interstate VS Intrastate before the next remewal of your CDL, but I was not aware of the no physical waver. Must be something extremely new. I just recently switched mine because of a job change, did it over the internet.
