    I never did understand the 82 split . ive used it a couple times and still dont understand it

    Most drivers dont use the 8/2 split. Some companies dont even allow it. As for the 14 hr rule...Example: say you start your day at 6am you have untill 8pm to get your driving done. At that point you go off duty or sleeper for 10 hrs and then your good to go again.
