unemploment question

Instead of unemployment I would look into finding another job. -Contact your state unemployment office (many are done online now) and ask them. I believe you can ask for unemployment Dec 11th -now.

-the sooner you contact (file with) them the better. The more you wait the more lazy you will look and the less they will pay.

Even if your job went full-time ---> part-time = unemployment

 

Unemployment only applies to you IF the company paid to the state you reside. Otherwise unemployment feels you are not due anything because you didnt work "in state" to recieve. Nice huh?

 

You have to be unemployed, not employed. It does not matter whether you are getting paid or not.

 

You can be employed, and still collect unemployment, but I think your employor has to have laid you off for about 2 wks.

go online to your state's job, or unempl claims site, it should spell it out, maybe apply there.

 

Being laid off is not employed.

 

You can apply due to loss of work, or less work. Getting partial benefits.
You will need to find out what state your company paid the money into though. In most OTR company's you will have to file in the state the company is in.
I did this when I was unemployed this past summer.
I got part of the money from Utah (from a company I had quit) and part from PA, and the company I was working for where I was laid off.
I live in New York. But I applied from the states that the company's were in and it was no issue.
If there are several states you need to go to the one that you worked for at least 2 quarters most recent.
They will draw the other funds from the other states if needed. It takes some time to process but you will get the back money eventually.
It took PA a month to get it rolling for me.
Also states all set there own maximum per week. NY where I live is only 385 a week cap. Utah was like 400, and PA was like 480.

 

You haven't ran any loads in 20 days? Are you sure you're still employed with this company? Seems like an awefully long time for them to keep you sitting, even in this economy. Call and talk to them, if you haven't already. Maybe they think you quit (or are hoping you have), or fired you and just forgot to let you know.
