My company has been testing some new steer tires lately... Not sure if the brand but that do the same thing as the OP described... Part of the tire wears fast... Then you rotate the tire say 1/4 to 1/2 of a rotation and it looks fine... Doesnt matter what truck they are on as they have tried them on several trucks... They all wear the same way... Our conclusion is that they are junk tires... Went back to the ones we been running previously and nice even wear again.

    I use Centramatics.

Have someone that knows what there doing, like a place that just does suspensions and such, check your kingpins.

My tires were wearing choppy. So I changed shocks and then 2 months later cab shocks. Doing tanks on the north east. The truck would move left to right for 10 to 15 seconds. After really ruff high roads. Pennsylvania is good for it. So the tires were wearing badly. After new shocks 3 seconds if the truck got upset.

Hello. If you haven’t solved your problem yet I’d recommend going to your tire shop and having them check the runout on your next set of steers. It sounds like it could be an out of round condition which may be caused by the hub, wheel, or tire. A good shop should match the high spot of the tire with the low spot of the wheel and hub to reduce the runout as much as possible. They can then check it on the vehicle to ensure you are within tolerances for the full assembly. If not, corrective action can be taken and fixed before you run the tires.

Kingpins? Sounds like maybe a bad kingpin on that side . I was chasing the tire gremlins for a while , have it checked out before you burn through another tire.

As much as the shop could figure the tires were just junk.
