You company wasn't aware of the fact that you had run out of hours and required a reset?

They were, we were told just run with your recaps which is the hours gained every midnight which made no sense since it wasnt a full 11hr drive.

That delayed our first delivery and now we couldn't catch up, and we are being asked why we are late?

Like its mentioned before the company needs to make money even if protocol is broken.

We haven't had the best trucking experience since we started a year ago. With different company now and this scenario comes up.

We are still researching more on what benefits us in the trucking industry.

Now I am questioning if we have the right to refuse routes? I've been told by some drivers that we can without getting fired. I assume in our case we could had been let go.

Drive your hours and keep dispatch up to date on your hours available. If you're doing your job without any nonsense then there's nothing to worry about. Ask dispatch if they want/expect you to run beyond HOS and if they answer anything but no promptly find a new employer.
