The problem is the def of obesity is way overstated. I am 6 foot tall with a large frame. If I weighed what the chart says I would be skin and bones.

The US Medical industry uses stats accumulated around 1942 with Air Force cadets. Can you imagine a slimer population ever in US hisory?

Totally biased, along with .... too many to mention false statements.

Herbs, vitamins, isometrics, lots of water, and uh...water bottles too. I don't even like aspirin :biggrin_2551:

Couldn't have been teh Air Force in 1942 since they didn't even get established until 1947.:biggrin_2556:

I had heard 1940's from an anthropometric class at Ga Tech. I just took a stab at 1942 because of war.

Thank you for correcting me Bear. Good information.

LOL, I just had to mess with someone. I was just in one of those moods to be a smarta$$. Sorry. But in real life the AF didn't get established until 47.

I have to admit one of my favorite programs is "Deadliest Catch" but it has been replaced by "Ice Road Truckers". Both have something in common and that is dangerous jobs.

While I am not a trucker my step son is and I have seen my share of truckers. Maybe not a fair sampling but most seemed to be overweight, most smoked, and most had sedentary lifestyles.

Maybe all these drivers I know have stellar cholestrol levels, no incidences of heart disease or diabetes nor suffer from enlarged prostates. But I doubt that.

I hope all truckdrivers (and others as well) will go in for a check up and take the advice of their physician. Start now, because speaking from experience it will only get worse.

I hear what you are saying. You have to do something. But for the last 4.5 years trading, I've sat in a chair 16 hours per day 7 days a week. I ride a bike hard 10 miles once a week, but you can do anything without drugs better, without visiting a doctor for him to tell you to come back again later. No one has a better idea than yourself what is going on, but you need to research subject, or drivers' wives can. Isolastic excercises are very intense and don't need to do a lot for benefits (like sitting stomach crunches).

NO DRUGS OR OPERATIONS HELP PROSTATES: only Saw Palmetto. Milk thistle helps your liver, etc... I've got about a half dozen essential 'proactive' herbs and a couple of vitamins that all the 'degenerative' drugs in the world can't match. And good posture is important. ALWAY arch your neck up and shoulders pinned back (another good isometric that can be exhausting exercise at the wheel).

Personally, I don't do drugs. Don't need them, and until now, I've never had a reason in last 25 years to see a medical doctor. Now I'll have to take my DOT exams, which I could buy 2 months of herbs and vitamins for. That's ok though: its always a good laugh to see how clueless they can be at times. Europeon doctors use herbs, chiropractic adjustments, and even accupuncture which I'm not familiar with. That's the way doctors should be and ARE all over the world except in the US. US doctors and medicine industry is a scam imo. Americans are on the average more unfit than their world counterparts, but bigger due to cow hormones (milk byproducts) and corn syrup in most all foods. On the average, Euro's are infinitely in better physical shape than Americans.

Just compare how you feel doing nothing listening to a doctor, versus proactive herbs/vitamins/excercise/posture and listening to your wife. Doctors don't have an incentive to make you better. Only YOU have that incentive. Don't let them tell you what you feel, until you feel better from doing nothing - their prescription: and that aint' going to happen :biggrin_25523:

And please don't smoke cigarettes. Its that simple except for constant herb research. Of course your mileage may vary...
