I left a company 20 years ago because of this nonsense... I'd run Amarillo to the NW all winter long, I'd got a nice little triangle going, get home after 10-12 days and do it again.

Come spring time, I couldn't buy a load going that way because all the fair weather boys got them. One chat with the load planner made it clear that those loads were "pay to play" during the nice weather, and my talking care of it during the winter meant nothing. I wasn't there for long after that.

I use to deal with a order buyer like that he'd forget about me from May till about the end of October then he'd start calling me wanting me to run Idaho Wyoming & Montana

Well this I can say. Being in a tornado is not fun.
Been in 3 of them 1 in Oklahoma, 2 in Alabama.
It’s a good thing I had extra shorts, cause I needed them.

Got a text from a friend of mine who was in the storm in Mississippi,
While he’s rolling He keeps an eye on the traffic and the weather radar ,

he pulled over when the weather got bad .
When it’s dumping 4 inches of rain in two hours , you might as well pull over .

I don't blame anybody for pulling over and waiting a bad storm out
Most the time I don't have that option when my wagon is loaded though

    Concorde Thanks this.

In winter time this works for me but I have a line. Tornadoes are it for me. My Volvo isn't up for flying.

In the last 60 years I've lived thru 4 tornadoes in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Missouri and Illinois.
Many blizzards in north dakota and western Minnesota and must say I have a healthy respect for all of the above .
