As for CF....Menlo Park had been positioning themselves for that shutdown for almost a decade...From the first regional fleet buyout the used to create the CCX etc system
And they couldn’t have possibly done it any dirtier....Stranded thousands of drivers....I was at Rip-Offs in Barstow that am
CHP—Sherriff Dept—and locals at gate with mgmt
Stopped every truck outside...told drivers to take personal possessions and go awaygentleroger Thanks this. -
And that's a true story, friends.
(I was working for Conway at the time.)
Oh yeah. Anybody remember what weekend/holiday it was?
Just a giant middle finger to the Teamsters.InTooDeep Thanks this. -
20 years ago!
And boy,were people pissed!!
They had a terminal in my hometown (Elgin,IL-on Weld Road) and when people were going to work after the Labor Day weekend had ended only to find the gates closed and padlocked it was a shock to the system!
In addition, because of the bankruptcy filing at the time the WARN Act didn’t apply.
Either way, the City of Elgin and the State of Illinois were not happy!Last edited: Nov 23, 2022

CEO and CFO didn't plan for the turning tide and probably bought a bunch of equipment at obscene prices and got fired. Whomever stepped in tried to put out the fire and then decided there was no way to save the barn so they moved to protect the other buildings. -
