I just swapped out the headlights on both sides. It had the single headlights when I bought it, but one had a cracked base and so I just bought another set of headlights, same brand and installed them. I matched wires up just the way they came off, but when I turned them on they seemed to dim normally in the daylight but the headlight indicator on the dash stays on all the time and they are very dim on dim and maybe normal dim on bright?? I unhooked the left headlight and the dash light works right but the right light is backwards, bright on dim and dim on bright. When I unhook the right side with the left side hooked up the dash light stays on all the time. What is my problem???

Sounds like a ground and crossed wires. You should only have 4 wires running to the singles. That's how mine are setup anyways. Test all wires and mark them if you have to. I can't remember which colors are which though. Hope this helps

I'll try that as soon as I find a light. Wouldn't you know the batteries in the test meter must have went bad!

Could it be a bad bulb or something? I swapped the wires on the right side thinking since it was backwards that would fix it and no deal still backwards?

Don't hold me to that , though. I just remember I had to write it down , to get it right.Bovinemoovers Thanks this. -
When my factory square single headlights(3 wires each high low and ground) did the exact same thing, it was a bad headlight relay in the fuse panel.

I did find a bad relay, now I just have to get time to find one. Truck stop only had a small one. Hopefully this will fix it.
