I check out the form all the time and I think I must be the only one that's unloaded a truck load of tires, or does no one want to say they had to work that hard. 2003 with SWIFT doing solo I was getting loads of tires going to NJ every now and then. All I can sat is it kicked my A _ _ 'S every time, and I always needed a shower after the unloading. It was a good work out, any one else ?

I used to haul them to a recapper in Dubuque IA in a drop frame. I would set one down on the floor and bounce the rest to the back of the trailer. It was quite the dirty grimy job for having to get back in the truck when finished unloading.

Can't say I have been that 'Lucky'.
I did get a 'load' of tires out of Houston, going to a Discount Tire in Rosswell NM once.
Picked it up at night, had to grab the Flashlight........looked like it was MT.Had only like 28 tires or so on.

Back when I leased to Landstar I hauled tire loads on occasion. Once you get a few loads behind you and find out how to unload them it isn't as bad. It would be much faster if they used a forklift. I hauled big truck tires and those were unloaded using a forklift.

years ago i hauled loads of car tires out of memphis tenn. i always took them to warehouses in colorado. during the hot summer months it was no fun fingerprinting every tire while unloading a full trailer. every tire had to be rolled off by hand. tuff job in a super hot trailer...

The worst is a full load of large[er] SUV/PU truck tires ... too small for forklift, but as heavy as can be handled by hand. Then do them with no inside trailer help, in Phoenix on an August afternoon with temps well above 100 and no fans available. I left dry van shortly after that and went to a meat hauler outfit and never looked back.

A walking floor would work good for tires.
