You juts let those idiots run 60-65-70 across the Atchafalya Basin Bridge (the one you're talking about). 1 time out of 3, there won't be a state trooper or country sheriff running radar... 2 out of 3 times, this one old buzzard will run right out into the road and flag you off.

BIG time ticket... and a guaranteed inspection... and I've had lots of friends who had all kinds of issues with citations in Louisiana, more hassle than any other state I can recall.

Yup--I am w/Ronin on this--it is EXTREMELY rare there aren't 2-3 bears on each side of the bridge--yeah trucks do get stacked up--but real bad plan to run much more than 58 and don't get caught in the left lane--at best you will work for free that week!!

Even with an unlimited truck... I set the cruise on 58, and still end up at 52-53 across there... it's agonizing, but one helluva lot shorter distance to go slow than to have to drive anywhere in CA!

Thats musta been you crying out there the other day ?
If you think someone is going to sit 20 trucks behind your $$$ thats doing 55mph,You gotta nuther thing coming.

La can be a tuff State at times but they arent much different then the others,to be honest I think Ca cuts more slack then any when it comes to speeding.
The unwritten rule, "Give them Four and Write them on Five" has held true out here for decades.
Even WalMart wont follow a 55 truck across that bridge:biggrin_25512:

Not taking the bait... I'm rolling 58... you go on around, cowboy.

That is one stretch of road that... and bear in mind I don't buy all that ticket quota and money-generation by law enforcement crap.... that's one stretch of road that's probably generated enough to pay the governer's salary.

i love it when drivers ##### about how slow i drive most of the timme 3-4 miles under the limit (my truck will run wide open) the same truck will pass me 4-6 times a day.....!

my last full up was 913 miles and i used 119 gl with 15k in the box thats 7.6 mpg so they can ##### all they want and btw my csa score is N/D "no data" no tickets, no accidents and NO INSPECTION so i must be doing something right

Is it that big a deal to drive 55 for less than 20 miles? I'm trying to clean up my record, and it's not worth the risk, to me. If other truckers want to speed and pass, that's their business, and I won't gripe at them about it. But I'm not going to speed up to make some other driver happy.

About the only good thing about CSA is it's gonna knock some of those good ol' boys outta the seat. Companies ain't pissin' arund anymore. They're seeing other outfits closing their doors due to CSA scores, and eating up that freight. Companies with good scores are gonna last, companies that can't or won't play by the rules are gonna be gone. Enough with the "Cowboy Up" crap. Protect your license and watch your A z z, and you'll start seeing better pay and benefits before too long. Experience and clean CSA scores are gonna make good drivers worth their weight in gold.
