I use to break the law in trucks and you will get caught sooner or later. I even had one for 10K! About lost my license on that one. 19 years no tickets and proud of it. Dad use to say"Ya can't deliver the load if your tits up in the ditch."

I mentioned seasoned drivers because everytime I look over to see what stupid looked like on that particular day, it's usually someone in their late 40s or later. They are usually driving some "no name" older model truck (which seem to be alot of those on the road). Very seldom is it some young individual.

We get 'em all the time in the Gorge. Let 'em whine find some good music to listen to like Five Finger Death Punch, Mega-Death, Slayer, maybe Godsmack to calm your nerves.

I had a truck blow by me in pigeon gorge last week. It was a no-name truck. I half expected to find him on his side blocking the road, but he eventually slowed down..

I wonder what made him slow down... He probably got a text message from his DM.

Ah, seasoned drivers. They smell like garlic and oregano, I bet. :biggrin_25525:

I'm wondering how seasoned they are...there seem to be a lot of guys my age (mid 40s) just getting into the business. It would also seem to me that a driver who habitually breaks the rules likely won't have time to become seasoned before he becomes unemployed.

I also wonder if the outlaw trucker mythology we grew up with in the 70's and 80's has an effect on how these guys drive. Think about it...we've been doing something else for 20 years and what we know most about trucking...what was pounded into our heads as children...is Smokey and the Bandit and Eight Days on the Road and CW McCall. Combine that with inexperience and a dispatcher pushing you to get a load delivered, and you can see how the problems might kind of build.

    Yup Thanks this.

Strangely enough, most of the "hammer down" clowns I see on there are Texas haulers or local dumps. Being an idiot on the Basin bridge is hit hard because nearly every accident there involves a fatality to someone. Think about it, where you gonna go to avoid a pileup? Go over or thru the guardrail and you gonna be swimmin with the gators and watermoccasins.

Some people will whine and cry about anything... " they passed me then were mean to me over the c.b." Man up and stop worrying about what evryone else is doing, and drive your own truck and turn the c.b. Off..
