Record is squeaky clean. No tickets, 3 clean level 1's.

That's why I'm upset about failing this because I like to be perfect.

He could have easily given you a warning, so don't say he was being a nice guy.

Shrug it off and move on. Give it another 6mo and get away from running hotshot.

Let me give you a quick lesson on OOS. It doesn't really matter what an officer finds, you are OOS until that defect is fixed. Most of the time an officer will issue a citation as well as list a violation on the inspection report. Then will verbally tell you to get the defect fixed then contact officer to get the work inspected and you can leave once the defect is fixed. The bad OOS's are the HOS ones. These can last a while because you can't leave until you can legally drive again. If you are stopped and you are caught busting the 60/70 hour rule an officer can and most of the time will shut you down until you get some recap hours back.

Remember an OOS is not a violation. OOS is a remedy the Officer uses as a result of finding a defect or a HOS violation. Also, let me add something else VERY important. If you are told to clear it by whatever agency that put you OOS DO NOT leave until you are released. If you do you can be arrested and your rig impounded.

Don't You will put yourself into a early grave stressing over these things.

I prefer local. I mean I've been netting around $1,100/week as a hotshot only being out 2 nights a week on average and the yard is 10 min from my house. Seems hard to beat seeing this is my first company and I'm only 6 months in..

I wouldn't mind doing regional if I could get on with Superior Carriers or a good company like that.

maybe i misunderstand what you're saying, but OOS most certainly goes against you if its noted on a roadside inspection, or you get a citation for an item weighted as OOS'able. Its on the indivudal drivers PSP, and is an SMS entry for the company, its falls under the Vehicle Maintenance Basic

yeah you want to avoid a warning, disputing a warning is harder than disputing a citation.

Some companies fire people for incurring those kinds of problems... er violations. Simply refuse to risk any more of that.
