Which is precisely why I used a couple friends for references and gave them Specific Instructions for what to say when potential employers called them.

The problems with made up driving histories are many. In today's world it would surprise you how many of the larger trucking companies OTR and local have people in HR jobs that know or have friends in other ones. There is a lady in Atlanta that used to work at BJ Hunt. If anybody applies and she gets the application to check out, guess what? Yep she calls her friends at JB Hunt. Same thing with safety departments. A CEO will leave a company and bring their director of safety with them. All it takes is a phone call and a history is checked out. This has happened to me. I actually sit in a recruiters office while she called a friend at a company I worked for and got my information. It happens it sucks but it is what it is. Then there is DAC. NEVER NEVER LIE ON A JOB HISTORY! You will lose that job opportunity and even if you get hired you always could get hit on the yearly records check.

I simply made up a name of a fictitious Construction Company and gave my friend's name as the owner of the company. All the companies that I applied to were perfectly fine with the information I gave. At no point in time did I ever falsify information regarding a trucking company which is easily found out
