I have a questions for you guys that are UPS truck drivers without owners.
Do you drive a single freight or double or triple?
How many miles a per week?
What the average miles per month?
For full time what is the salary from the beginning and now?
Do you get paid by hour or miles?

    Chinatown Thanks this.

It's to bad no one has chimed in to answer your questions. I too have wandered all of the above. Maybe this post will bump it up into visibility again :)

If I'm correct that is UPS Freight, which is an entirely different animal then UPS. If I'm wrong though please feel free to correct me.

The tmpseogo.com site says it's under construction. The other Apply now link was good though.

^This is correct. Jasonincincy has the answers up there for UPS package, the guys in Freight don't make as much from what I understand, but trying to get into package feeders is a very long wait, usually. I'm currently a loader in the hub, and I would have to be here for about 6 years before I got into a package delivery car, and then many additional years from that point to make it into feeders. This will vary by hub, but I don't believe this is an unusual length of time nationwide. I understand that off-the-street hires do happen, but very rarely. Jasonincincy, do you know the specifics of that? Isn't it one non-union for every 5 or 6 union members promoted, or something similar?

I can only talk about my situation but in most cases it takes a long time to get on. I worked 3 seasons with them as a feeder and eventually gave up. The latest contract was stalled and I decided to go back to what I was doing. Talking to the regulars there they act as if 4-5 years to get a full time "job" is the normal. Once you get hired there, you never leave..

Is it as difficult to get into UPS Freight as it is to get into UPS packaging, as far as being a truck driver is concerned?
