Im sure it can be worse but probably not by much.
Ive pretty much shat my life away so I hope this message can act as a reminder to anyone who takes the time to read it that life is all about choices and I hope you make better choices than I did.
Right now my (faithful) wife thinks Im looking for a trucking job. Truth is I spent about a week calling 200+ trucking companies, cdl licensing schools , big and small, and they,ve all pretty much towed the same line: Nope.

Oh... did I mention I was on probation?

Anyway, I havent had the courage to tell my wife just how bleak it looks atm.

As hard as it is to say it to anyone, I'm on megans law.
I'm on megans law and I am on probation for it. Man thats hard to type. Its even harder to tell recruiter after recruiter and attempt to explain it. I dont even bother explaining it anymore. Im on megans law with a felony. thats not all though. I also have a drug charge. Possession with intent to deliver. Another felony.

without getting into specifics I can only say that I have never hurt anyone (or would ever) in any way aside from putting my family and friends through hell.
Ive had a somewhat successful life, until it wasnt. Ive never had an arrest or altercation with the law until I did. It all unraveled pretty quickly. I had a great business then lost it. And then I lost it. I hope that doesnt sound like an excuse because its not. It was just bad choices.
Now Im on a list with pedophiles and rapists (which I am not) and my neighbors (that I dont know) think Im a drug dealer to boot.
Thing is I have a great family. My kid is getting ready to go to college (straight a's and an national honor student) and I want to support that. I want to support my wife (30 years)
Im not even sure what I came here to ask other than advice. I dont even have a cdl yet and a host of schools wont even consider teaching me on let alone landing me a job once Im done. I was thinking about owner op but insurance is insane. I dont think I can get a twic card either.
Thanks for hearing me out. Advice is welcome. Insults are expected.

Maybe didn't think of that one. I think the op has two enormous hurdles that are going to be to difficult for most to get past. Best of luck op.

Which state do you live in?
Won't do any good to make phone calls; in your situation, that never works. You need something to offer the company such as "I'm a recent cdl school grad and applied to your company's online application. I'm checking on my job application."
You may qualify for free cdl school through the WIOA program in your state. Since you're a felon, the WIOA program will require you to get 2 or 3 pre-hire letters before they will fund the school. Those pre-hire letters are easy to get; we'll help you.
Now, which state do you live in and does your probation allow you to leave the state?

Most of the time 7 years after a felony is required for insurance.

Some of them even say, "We're not interested in your criminal background and don't want to hear about it."

A few companies hire drivers the day they're released from prison.
