Bring back "public stoning" or "public flogging".

yes, i know that. i saw "some" of the trial...and it's been hashed out here a gazillion times, what the judge said.

which is why, we need minimum sentencing guide lines, to PREVENT judges from just slapping someone on the wrist.

we need good old fashion, "hanging judges", and less "snowflake involvement".

My knee-jerk reaction was "where can I sign the 'throw the book at him' petition". But after thinking it through, if it were up to me (and assuming he is not a serious risk to others at this point), the penalty would be a relatively short stay in jail, followed by an indefinitely long period of indentured servitude, with proceeds of his labor to be paid out to the victims - to be ended either if the full amount of the civil penalties are paid or if the victims grant forgiveness.

He was found guilty on 27 counts and received the minimum for each count. He didn’t get the 110 years just for the people he killed. And there was intent, he testified he turned into the stopped traffic to slow himself down because there was already a truck on the shoulder. Forget about the runaway ramps he made the choice not to use, smashing into stopped traffic to slow yourself down instead of pointing it into the ditch to avoid others is a cowardly act.

I get that. That's not what intent is. He made an impulse move. Had he been trained properly, we aren't even having this conversation. Appropriate training would have caused him to think and used the escape ramp. It also would have caused him to make a call to take himself out rather than slam into traffic. Nobody inexperienced is going to think like that, if at all. You feel it was intentional, and you're entitled to your opinion and many of you share the same opinion. It is what it is.

They need to find out who did the Third party testing for his CDL and go after them. But they’ve probably already changed names and moved on the same as the trucking company.

We didn’t say it was intentional the jury did. I have no stake in this.

I really don't either. Only an opinion.

Swerving across 3 lanes of traffic like he did showed reckless disregard for other safety to begin with

It's not an opinion he intentionally killed 4 people. It's a fact. Otherwise the jury, as triers of fact, could not have convicted him.

Lol....I guess he woke up, went to pick up that load, and during the trip planning process, he planned his route, figured out where to shower, eat, and fuel, and lastly, he concluded a run is not complete without killing some innocent motorists....come on man.
