This is no surprise. They must have watched the video with blinders on.

The officer acted completely within the codes of conduct of the UHP.
You don't argue a ticket at the roadside. That's why you have a court date. You certainly can't expect to leave the spot where you were pulled over at to "check and see if that speed limit sign was there or not" before you sign a ticket.
Had this yahoo just signed the ticket and waited for his court date, there never would have been a taser incident.
I saw the video, and as a response to it, I sent an email to the Utah Highway Patrol praising the officer for his actions.
-
I have also emailed the state to confirm the law requiring a signature on the ticket.
An attorney will usually advise you not to sign anything. I personally do not sign anything in these cases.
You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. That is what makes it nice. -

But why not only taser him ONCE? Did he really need to do it twice?
And you MUST sign the ticket or they'll take you to jail in Canada, or at least that's what they say. -

The power or miss use of power many police officers use amazes me
Its gets to the point they believe they dictate right and wrong, and do what ever it takes to force that opinion
So what the guy didn't want to sign it
Cops work for us and should always remember to use kindness when dealing with people -
Police officers are faced with life and death situations nearly everyday. They have to act in accordance with their state and city laws as well as within departmental guidelines. If they don't, they are reprimanded. Departmental guidelines are set up with safety in mind. Safety for the officer and the general public.
