download firefox, its better anyways. For IE you can go to control panel/ security/ check for updates. If IE is available for a update. Otherwise got to programs from control panel, select get programs online (for Vista) only

Click Tools above in IE or push ALT & T at the same time
Scroll down and click Windows update <opens a new window and your choices will be there.
Another way of you can update it, Have Vista do a update. If there are any updates to IE. It will include it.

I agree completely with the Firefox suggestion. IE is in no way standards compliant and Firefox is. Firefox is far more secure for browsing and does a much better job of it.
If I were you I would avoid using IE on the web unless you just enjoy having a multitude of security holes in your browser. -
Even if you use Firefox, (I prefer Google Chrome, btw,) you need to keep IE updated with Windows updates, or you're going to have security holes that will affect all your browsers, because IE is so woven into the fabric of Windows.

got rid of Vista...now have win7.
