kinda depends on your life style too ...if your a road warrier that doesent mind living in a truck id buy a new one ...if you have a homelife and and a fam id rebuild the c 15 and bank some cash .
id rather have a new truck but i like bein home weekends and only running 2 states as well as no pressure from my boss so my old 96 379 is my tradeoff .

Great advice from all, I truly appreciate it. I'll probably lean towards rebuilding. My truck still looks great, so I'll just get here performing the best I can. I'll also probably give Pittsburgh Power and looks see and see if they can get it running like it should in the next few months.
Anybody else advice is still welcomed.... -
I make the lease payment on a new truck. I have no intention of ever owning the truck. I pay a mileage rate that covers all maintenance on the truck, including tires, etc. If the truck breaks down, they provide a sub-truck to me at no cost so I can keep running. I enjoy the comfort and features of a New truck plus excellent fuel mileage. I make a really good living and don't have a care in the world regarding the "what if" my truck breaks down. To each their own, however, that's just how I personally roll.

Good idea on the PP power. I'd also look into having it microblued when you get it rebuilt.

microblued ? -
Some swear by it whileothers have made their own study and saw no improvements.
If you do a search here on TTR,you will find a long thread about it. -
All the OP says is that he cannot run it like his old truck.
Well here's a newsflash you might have missed:"Newer engines are not made to run like older iron"
Revs, torque and hp are very different.
If he runs his '14 Shaker like a old truck..................i would expect him to get the lousiest fuelmileage.
Here's a link with details done by a "old hand".
He gives a good account off the changes he had to make.
