Hey all I got a question for all you lease operators out there. I just leased 2015 cascadia evo and got it upgraded to a 13 speed which was easy. Recently I bought a scan gauge that hooks up to the ecm and has readouts like for boost, instant, and avg mpg which is handy for adjusting the way I drive. I know its not completely accurate for calculating mpg but it is handy for getting a rough estimate. Anyways it also has a gauge that reads what the current horsepower rating the engine is putting out... now I don't know what my engine parameters are but the max readout was 300hp. I don't know if its accurate or not but according to the top of the engine its rated up to 505hp. Can I take it to a dealership and get the ecm tuned for a higher hp? I figure the higher the hp the more efficiently my truck will run. But there is such a thing as too much hp where i'll be losing mpgs. Thanks for the help!

Wide open is always the best your fuel is base on how heavy your foot is on the pedal.

Most dealers probably won't touch this since the truck is leased and not in your name. Also may require a password to get into the ECM. Back of the parking lot truck stop "tuners" may or may not do this for you, they wouldn't want Swift coming back to them if they found out about it.

The scangauge doesn't show the true HP anyway, I know mine isn't even close, so don't worry about that.

Yeah, he's right, you don't own the truck, your name is not on the title so you will have to ask the 'Owner' if it is OK to do the modifications you want. Did you get this lease through Swift? If so, it's their call and I think I know what the answer will be.

You poor #######. Good luck on that lease, you're gonna need it.

You can calibrate the scan gauge but fiddling with it while the truck is on a dyno.

Is that the truck in the photo? Why would a Swift truck need the extra lift axle? Just curious.
    Good luck with the lease.

Another possible option, not cheap though, is to get the BullyDog HDGT device then you can change things on your own. Also revert back to stock for when the truck has to go to the shop or dealer. However I think if the ECM has a password set you can't use it. From drivers I've talked to that have one they say they do have fuel savings and a bit more power and it will pay for itself. No personal experience to say either way.

Every scan gauge I have played with maxes out around 300 hp. You can go into the settings and calibrate it.
