Man that is tough. I feel for the kids not to have a father anymore. At least it didnt happen around Christmas. My condolences to the family should they find this post.

Lost a wheel WELL actually.;) Car parts like that will usually have a part number on it so they should be able to trace it to what vehicle make and model had that part. And hopefully they can get the SOB who did this. RIP driver.:(

Very narrow shoulders and lanes through there. Very dark road with no freeway lighting. Bad place to have to stop. May have been scattered storms and rain showers passing through about that time. Not to mention it was prime time for drunk drivers.

I suspect he was just about to get back into the truck when he was hit initially.

    yeah, RIP.

i know of several UPS drivers that wear a reflective vest. i think it's policy, can't say for sure, but if this guy was wearing one, no excuse for the hit and run, not to have seen the reflective materials.

yes, parts numbers will be on the inner wheel well. that'll give them some sort of a lead. to be followed up at junkyards and dealerships

It was a "wheel well" that was reportedly lost. Not sure what we're talking about, exactly. One ton pickup tandem fender maybe?

This is very pathetic reporting AND police handling. Looks like the authorities would want the public to know EXACTLY what was left behind so the public and appropriate business could be on the look out for vehicles or inquiries on said part(s).

I've done several "update"searches on this story, and nothing comes up.
