UPS FREIGHT ORIENTATION

    Can anyone tell me what to expect at orientation. Also i was trying to get some information on there trucks. What do they run and what speed are the governed at.

    Well I run 66 and a double passed me the other day. Doesn't mean you will start fast. Some companies wait 30 to 90 days before turning them up.

    UPS Freight Truckload are the ones that drive the White Volvo's......

    They can sometimes be mistaken for UPS Cartage. Trucks can vary in speed. Seen some blow my doors off going 75 + mph.

    Orientation is probably the same as the Freight side. Both are under the same UPSF umbrella. You'll probably spend a whole day signing paperwork, watch some old crappy videos, and receive your uniform. Only difference between the two is that Freight is Union while Truckload is Non Union...and Freight also pays way more than Truckload.

    When I was truckload, orientation consisted of paperwork and a few videos. That was it. They made me ride with a senior driver for a week to learn the paperwork and UPSF way. Oh, we weren't issued uniforms either. Didn't have to shave and my heavily tattooed arms were visible.
