They bamboozled the membership with tough talk and reckless-seeming action, but I bet they called all the big customers at the C-level and told them it was a play. So they could all have a laugh at how they control things.

Bump - How much freight are you O/O's seeing right now? Has anything picked back up or are you waiting on loads?

My husband is with UPS FREIGHT, LTL in Allentown PA. He just got notified that his dedicated run with Advance Auto has been lost to JB HUNT. He is non union since they voted for it a few years ago and UPS has been keeping it tied up in court ever since. Now JB HUNT wants him to drive for them. They're claiming he will get .15/mile increase, lower benefit costs, higher stop pay. He got a call from UPS saying they might have another driver job for him. I think he should talk to them. He thinks he will make more money with JBH. He doesn't believe he has any bargaining power with UPS. He's been there almost 11 years. No accidents. Perfect record. They even asked him to train. Any thoughts?

Yes. Non union due to court battle with UPS. It is believed by some that UPS has been working to rid itself of Advance Auto to end the court battle.
