at my last pickup today there was a UPS tractor trailer there. It wasnt a freight, it was regukar UPS. They loaded the truck with pallets. I thought UPS only used them for line-haul not for any p/d

I also did a straight truck for them too. Usually when there were a lot of pallets I'd go with that. That's why I'm surprised that they sent over a tractor trailer. Guess I learn something new everyday -
Huge shippers such as Amazon and BH Video will move a pup load minimum of parcels daily. And (or) that's what makes UPS profitable and successful, they make the best and efficient use of their available resources and are not above pooling internal resources to get freight moved and meet customer special demands and needs.
