Yup, my thoughts too. I’ve turned it down. I like my job and the people I work with. I also just bumped up. I came to Saia to be on a daylight linehaul run in 5 years and its looking that way in the next couple of years while making a good wage. My job has more balance then doing the UPS thing. Just my opinion. I do think UPS is one of the best jobs though. Good luck to anyone making the move.

Waiting on background check and to be sent off for physical/drug screen for UPS here. I was given an offer of employment for casual package car, but was told there are a spate of retirements in feeders coming up, and figured I'd try to wedge my foot in the door this way.
Should be interesting.LtlAnonymous, Buffalonytrucker92 and McUzi Thank this. -
Yes just waiting for my start date as casual feeder driver. It's just maybe something with a consistent schedule would be best....LtlAnonymous and McUzi Thank this. -
My goal is to get into feeders sooner rather than later. I just figured I had a better shot at that coming in on package car, getting in the union, and getting some time in while waiting for the retirees to go, or slots to be opened up. Guess we'll see.

I got layed off April 1 due to COVID-19 and with no clue when I’d get called back I started filling out apps anywhere and everywhere. One such app was a position as a feeder driver full-time permanent with UPS. 2 months after filling out the app I received a text from them asking if I was still interested. I had to jog my memory a bit to remind myself of filling out the app. I responded “yes” and was immediately setup for an online interview the same day. The interview went well and the interviewer informed me I’d be called back for a road test, physical and drug test. 3 days after my interview my job called me back from lay off. 4 days after I went back to work UPS called for the rest of the process. I made my way home and passed all with flying colors. They offered me a job and I excepted. I picked up my uniform this week and will begin “training” next week. This was a very difficult decision for me to make as I had both a job I liked and paid me well. I figure I will take about a 30%-35% pay cut the first 2 years but not trying to be short sighted I’m going into this opportunity with a very positive attitude

My first year with UPS I took a $50,000 pay cut as I was laid off 7 months that year. It was still a good move and if I weren’t so independent and had a day job I would have retired from UPS! Good luck and I hope you really like it eventually because it is a great place to work. @skinnytrucker

I hope I end up like the story above. Their are two different ads. Permanent on call. And seasonal. Idk even know which I interviewed for. I start Monday. Just scared of what the future holds.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.
