Yeah it's still too vague. One MAY be a P&D job, OR it MAY be an actual dock position.

i'm hoping it'll be everything I want and 30 hours a week at $18 an hour with the occasional double shift but I guess if all else fails I can try another LTL company

I'm thinking it IS an actual dock position, because their is no part time P&D position, and their really is no double shifts either.

Let us know what the position ACTUALLY is, so we can give you more accurate information.

Called a couple different places at ups and couldn't get a straight answer...pretty much everyone saying I should ask another person

If you can post a link for the position, or copy and paste it, that MIGHT help....otherwise, can't really help you any further.

OK....much clearer now. Yeah, it IS the COMBO position that @Russian Rabbit mentioned, and job duties are EXACTLY as he explained. Now part MIGHT mean you'll spend the majority of the time on the docks, and do P&D runs whenever you are needed, OR it MIGHT be actual ON CALL, which I doubt, because I personally never seen on call at UPSF.

It's not on call because if you actually click apply for job it's the "sunrise" shift (6-12).

I applied but it seems they are just kinda taking applications so far...with it getting around the time LTL companies start hiring I might just try one of them so I can move up in my driving career.

OK...even more clearer. Yeah, It probably means you're only gonna work 6 hours a day. P&D drivers usually leave around 10-10:30 am, so you MAY be doing dock work up until then, and maybe do 1 trip out and back.

This is the first time I really heard of a part time COMBO position, because usually the combo guys get more hours than the P&D drivers. I guess things are changing at UPS.

theyve been advertising it for a couple years now but every time I look it up I don't find much info except "possible lay offs" and "10 hours a week" which scares me off lol
