Anybody work for UPSF in Indy ?
I've got an interview with them tomorrow for "dock with CDL" at the old Overnight terminal at 70 and Holt and don't know anything about them other than the small brown parcel trucks .
I kinda already know what the dock work would be like (having worked at OD & CWF) but was wondering why the position needed a CDL ? I'm guessing so you can act as a relief driver or make local pick ups ?
How is UPSF to work for ?

Why did you leave Odie? You are probably going to be a relief driver for when the old timers go fishing.
-
They will be using you on both the dock and driving, its a combo position. I believe its for p\d though. Im currently a road driver for them. The dock work is a LOT easier than CWFs. I hated working the dock there, at UPSF I don't mind it.
UPSF is a good job, but be careful, they tend to be strict. Just do what your told, don't cause problems or anything like that and management leaves you alone. The pay starting out isn't great but top rate is a HUGE increase. -
Right on , thanks for the info .

I jumped ship few days before ACH1130 did to USPF lol lol lol lol. Formerly worked for ABF, great company too.
Touch zero freight, so far all drop and hooks. still on probationary but it's decent pay. In the same local union just different carrier starting over.
USPF is indeed worth it... I was over whelmed the first few weeks with retarded policies, It's worth the aggravation ( adapting ) and becoming a sheep to get a retirement.
PS: don't tell anyone, We make 2x-3x per week then OTR and sleep home at each nightLast edited: Nov 17, 2013

Shaggy Thanks this. -
I applied for a Full Time Dock Worker with CDL, still waiting to hear back from them.
-
I applied and an hour later was called. I have heard the hiring process takes a while for them

The interview was a joke . I applied for full time , because that's what they were advertising but the guy only offered part time , said it's what they had left .
No big deal I thought , figured it'd be a way to get my foot in the door .
Then he said the position pays $10.50 / hour with no guarantees of getting 25 hours , no guarantees of getting full time and no idea when or if , I would ever actually be hired on as an actual UPS employee .
Ten fifty an hour ! I think he's smoking crack .Cbake84 Thanks this. -
Yea doesn't surprise me I've heard that before... There's one guy on here who had a similar situation
