You can't drink alcohol on company truck/ or property. Buy the beer liquor and walk to a spot AWAY from the truck.

Actually, there IS a way. Remember being a kid and going to a family gathering? The women would talk in one area, and those old guys would be in a different area having their adult beverages, and the kids would have to go play and stay out of trouble.

One day, you walk in and the Man of the house holds a chair for you. You sit down and someone else hands you an adult beverage. You are now recognized as a Man. Proceed with caution.

Bear in mind that families do things quite differently

For instance, our gatherings were teetotal, and there isnt any real male/female splitup.

The age splitup isnt even fully accurate for us, because by age 10 you usually get sucked into one of the 4 or 5 euchre games :p

Only on days that end in y…

This is either hilarious or sad that you have only worked for #### companies your career, I’ve worked at companies that had some epic Christmas parties, anyone not local was gotten a hotel room for the night.

Don’t drive drunk, but your not driving, drink as much as you want, if your company thinks they own you and has a problem with it tell them to take their truck (which you arent even in) and stick it up their ###

Know the phrase, but the way you have said it theres easily 5 good ways 5 bad ways and a plethora of neutral meanings i could taKe from that.

Id rather not misconstrue you, please expound.

Its something (missing rites of passage) that i highly doubt is unique to me and my family, as such, i dont find the juvenile behavior of many in my age group confusing despite beleiving it to be a problem

So whats a acable solution that doesnt rely on family gatherings because im not sure even 50 % actually have that available

You are released from ALL duty and responsibility of that equipment. You are now on your own time. REGARDLESS if you get paid downtime or not. You are 100% free to imbibe your favorite adult drink! There should be NO company policy that says otherwise.

There were times during my early days driving I would sit after my day and enjoy a steak and a beer. Sometimes more than one beer. I generally never had alcohol in my truck.

Now I need to remind people not aware of 382.305 (m) to take note of it!
A driver shall only be tested for alcohol while the driver is performing safety-sensitive functions, just before the driver is to perform safety-sensitive functions, or just after the driver has ceased performing such functions.

I have spoken to many safety people as well as a Fed on this part. This generally means when on the company property. This means if you by some chance get called to test (has happened to me two times) while broke down and in a hotel MAKE sure you notify safety you are NOT required to blow. I had been drinking some that afternoon and got called to go test late that afternoon. Don't allow these people to bully you into blowing. If perchance you do blow and were off duty and drinking the results can be bad! I recommend copying that code section down and if asked to blow while offduty to make sure the carrier knows about it. Some don't want to do it.

Go ahead and misconstrue. Pick among your 5 bad meanings and go with that.
