Was trying to remember if I ever have, don't think I have. But I have been across US12 from Lolo, Montana (Missoula) to Kooskia, Idaho where you see this sign![]()

Now I have to think, I have been down to wickenburg, but I don't think I came out of prescott In fact I was thinking it went to bagdad and stopped.. You are going to make me dig the atlas out now. lol
Cabinover101 Thanks this. -
US12 was my secret route for bypassing scales going westbound. Then I'd head north on ID-3, west on ID-99, west on ID-8, and cross into Washington just west of Moscow Idaho.
The only scale I'd ever see was Ellensburg and it was usually closed when I came through late at night.Cabinover101 Thanks this. -
Yeahhh, I had the privilege of coming out of the lil rest area just in time for a 4axle wood chip hauler to get in front of me
....Think it took me like 30 something miles to pass him and I was empty

89a? You can't. Can't think of the town off the top of my head, but it's all switchbacks. Can't make it with a 53.Bakerman Thanks this.

Used to run that a couple times a week for 9 years. The funniest thing I’ve seen on that road was an eastbound CRST truck. Was snowing pretty good and they pulled into the chainup area. They were advised to chain and keep going but they wouldn’t move. When I came back west the following day the tow truck from Missoula was there trying to get them out of the 6ft snow berm they were behind. The storm lasted all night and the plows worked all night and kept plowing the chain area to keep it open and they just stayed parked.Cabinover101 Thanks this.

Yup, and lots of motorcycles on that road in the cool weather.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

Co-driver did make it with 53 van, but was pulled over on the way, probably down at Yarnell.
Definitely not a fit road for it, the company people routed him that way and he let them and ignored the signs.
People ask me why I had so many jobs. -
Not yarnell. The old mining town on the hill.

Bagdad is off to the east of 93 above Wickenburg. You'd remember that twisty road over to Bagdad (97), one company made me sign a form promising to never go more than 15 mph around a curve they've had a lot of rollovers on. First time around, trainer did it at 35.

No that's not it either.
